In the release version, the targets and ground objects have still not been adjusted in the A-10A The Valley campaign to make it playable. (originally reported here in the 2.5 Beta bug forum https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=201187).

This image shows the 3 primary targets, two of which would be completely undetectable in an A-10A without use of labels. Also, their proximity to trees and buildings would render many weapons useless.

Would these (the tanks not the truck) be detectable in real life by an A-10A if they where in the same place hiding behind or below trees? I guess not.

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

they would be really hard to spot, but because many dcs missions have idiotic mission goals that requires player to kill every tank etc.. its fubar like mission in this thread.

Maybe objective should be to kill enemy units in area.. now you have to kill just right Tank’s or its mission failure :/

I totally agree on that.

Totally agree with that as well.

Required to kill all is not realistic. As destroying 1/3 or 1/2 of units renders that unit incapable to perform their combat duties.

It is all about percentage and probabilities in real life. And once you change the odds, you change their capability perform.

So partially this problem of misplaced units is not so serious if missions would be correctly designed, but still immersion killer and error that must be fixed.

Just as a quick follow up. This has not been addressed in 2.5.1.

Also, I decided to try and see if I could get past the mission to check additional missions. I was able to get 2 of the tanks using labels and CBU-97s. However, the 3 tank wasn't killed with any CBU, AGM65, or 2 gun runs. It was after this that I used F7 and found that the tank had driven inside a building during the course of the mission and physically impossible to kill.

The campaign is unplayable even using all aids available.

Was able to get all three tanks with CBUs on the first mission (again, only by using labels to see through trees and buildings).

On the second mission, there was significant fog which I don't remember in previous versions, which made it very difficult to find targets without labels (especially for an A-10A without a targeting pod). The primary targets were relatively close the steerpoint, but the image in the briefing no longer matches the actual topography around the primary targets.

Again, completing this mission (#2) would not have been possible without use of the F10 map and labels to figure out where targets were.

Briefing image (and possibly steerpoint info) needs to be updated so player can find targets.

Just to let you know, these reports don't always go un-noticed, I am having a look at those A-10a The Valley Campaign missions for the issues mentioned as well as any others I might find.

Being hard to play (How you kill them) isn't always deamed a problem with the mission, unless you have the obvious issues you have mentioned about targets being hidden, inside buildings or trees.

Will give you some more feed back as I progress, but no time frame sorry.

Will be moving all units out of forests and roof tops this week from all missions. I do however try to leave each mission as close as possible to the original, so I wouldn't move targets out of city, just because the buildings make it hard to get an angle shot.

It belief the units can get moved out if their mission can't be completed that way? Meaning that if they need to defend a Eastern side of town, they can't be left to Western side?

Thanks for letting me know. I was continuing to post additional issues to try to be helpful, not necessarily thinking no one was listening.
