Nealius Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I am using one computer as client PC, one as server PC to record cinematics as client track files are always broken, while server track files replay rather reliably. I have discovered that sound mods do not work on server track files. This has been tested with the Spitfire and Jafa's sound mod. Test 1: Client PC - Sound mod installed Server PC - Sound mod NOT installed When server track is replayed on client PC (which has the sound mod installed), the sound mod does not apply. Playing the exact same flight's client track, the sound mod is applied. Test 2: Client PC - Sound mod installed Server PC - Sound mod ALSO installed When server track is replayed on client PC, the sound mod still does not apply. Again, playing the same flight's client track, the sound mod is applied. When a track, regardless of client or server track, is played on a machine that has a sound mod, that sound mod should be applied, no? I recall a Viggen sound mod working just fine in this situation back in 1.5.8. It's extremely disappointing that I can't record any Spitfire cinematics with authentic sounds, especially the exhaust popping when dropping the throttle to idle.
Nealius Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 (edited) Further testing: Sound mod installed directly to DCS root directory instead of Saved Games directory on both client and server PCs. Sound mod still fails to play in server replay track. Sound mod also does not play on server PC, which does not have the Spitfire module. scKz38SSlSA Edited April 30, 2018 by Nealius
