Am I supposed to drop this in a folder or load the profile from any location?

I went to setting then controls tab but I am unable to get the load profile option to give me the ability to load the profile..

any help appreciated..

Before you can press the load profile button, you need to select a cell in the column that relates to the device the profile is aimed at. I always select the first cell, but don't know if that makes any difference. Once you have pressed the button, just navigate to and select the file containing the profile and that should do it.

Edit: maybe try plugging your controller into a different USB port, if it isn't showing up in the controller config window

if you are using old .lua profiles I would suggest removing them and creating fresh ones.

x45 will work with DCS I used to use it.

MFG Crosswinds have served me very well and if you also want to fly helicopters, it's really easy to take the spring off or just loosen it to reduce the pull to the centre.
