Since there may or may not be issues related to bringing a modern russian fighter to DCS, i wonder if going the way trough a J-11B is the best option to get modern red air in game.

Since bureaucracy is risk adversive by default they may have vetoed modern Russian aircraft in DCS. However, at the same time they may be more than willing to turn their back on something they can`t be held responsible for.

Any takers for a J-11B ?

You still need a license to model the Full fidelity systems. So someone is going to ask China for there Chinese developed avionics suite? On a fighter that's still in Active service...I don't think that would go down to well.

I'm quite sure you would still need to ask Russia, It's still their aircraft, China secured an agreement to build them with Russian kits. You cannot just go around them, that would look real bad.

Could only imagine want would happen if China handed over all the specs and their development of the aircraft.

Not likely going to happen;)

Well, China violated the contract with Russia when they made the B-version. Can they sue for a violation of a violation ?

Don't know much about Chinese military aircraft, but AFAIK the J-11B is a much more indigenous development than the J-11A(basically a Chinese licence-built Su-27SK with very few changes) and the things that separate them(advanced combat systems) probably have little to do with Russia.

But I still don't understand why people seem to think that getting documentation from the Chinese would be any easier.
