SafetyTurtle Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Hello. Just got the Harrier today and loving it but not quite sure about the radio. I'm trying to contact tower to engine startup and all that, but none of the preset freq's seem to match and I'm a bit confused as to how I can change the frequency if at all, to be able to contact ATC. Anyone who might be able to help out?
Schmirco Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) There is a round Knob on the UFC for each radio, push this knob to choose the radio you want to change. Press CLR to clear the old freq. and enter the new freq. like 264.000 or only 264 in example, with ENT you save the new freq. EDIT: you can only set a freq. in Manual mode (display shows an M) Edited May 2, 2018 by Schmirco
Ramsay Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) Once you have battery switch ON, • turn up the volume and UFC brightness controls, • Press the radio tuner you want to use i.e. COM 1 • Turn the tuner to the channel with the frequency you want • or to Manual 'M' and enter the frequency you want i.e. 131 and ENT for 131.000 MHz (Batumi) After a few seconds of inactivity, the UFC scratch pad turns off, so to enter a new frequency - press the COM button (which will display the current frequency) and then repeat for the new frequency.
