Wizard_03 Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Either the pod is too long or the pylon is too short, drives me crazy. Can someone report this, the aircraft has been like this for over a year now. See attached image of correct pod placement. DCS F/A-18C :sorcerer:
Baz000 Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 for that matter also, When you have the only payload as one ACMI pod on a wing... It causes the aircraft to roll / and maybe yaw as well...
Dino Might Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 for that matter also, When you have the only payload as one ACMI pod on a wing... It causes the aircraft to roll / and maybe yaw as well... Shouldn't it do that naturally with asymmetric load? What's the weight of the pod? I was guessing a couple hundred pounds. Newer pods are like 100-200 pounds. The F5 pod is an older model, right?
DaveRindner Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 That is correct behavior. Carrying ACMI pod and other wingtip pylon empty, places aircraft in asymmetric load condition. That causes slight roll. You need to trim alerons to compensate.
Lucas_From_Hell Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Trim, or add a training missile on the other tip to balance it out.
