Radio comms: attack my target

Does the radio command "attack my target" have any effect?

 

I'd swear it does on FC3 aircraft as I can hear my wingman's answer, but on the Mirage I get radio silence. So I always end up saying "engage bandits" just in case.

 

Not a big deal anyway...just curious to know if it's of any use on the Mirage.

I don't think it works, I always used "attack my enemy", that seems to do the trick.

Don't know what the semantics of "attack my enemy" are though; the reason I was trying "attack my target" was to be able to tell the wingman to go for one bandit so I can go for the other one (kind of).

I can't swear it's bullet proof, but it seems that if you order: "engage bandits" then "attack my target", the wingman does what you want.

 

"attack my enemy" is for when you're under attack, to ask your buddy to clear your six.
