ChickenSim Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 The older NATOPS and checklists are from a time when -406 and pre-AFC-392 -408s were around. On -408B engines (and in newer pubs) the default position to use is POS 2, because in the newer engines that DECU lane has a permanent magnetic alternator that would reduce battery drainage on the system in the event of a main generator failure. It may not matter much in DCS without random system failures but that's the reason the switch is in POS 2 now. "It is also true that we parted ways with Chicken after some disagreements."
mvsgas Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 ChickenSim beat me to it, but the A1-AV8BB-NFM-500 series manual is from 2006 while the A1-AV8BB-NMF-000 is from 2008. One of the downfalls of viewing manual found on the internet. Is hard to pin what aircraft are covered in them and if they even matter to the version we have in DCS. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
