Hi Everyone,

I'm a longtime simmer and TM Warthog owner since 2011, been out of it for several years though. I've created a problem with the stick and hoping someone here may have a solution.

With the release of F/A-18 I've jumped back in and felt that my Warthog stick was finally in need of lubrication since I've never done it before.

I found a simple guide online and removed the stick handle and carefully took it apart to the point where the ball joint was exposed. I pulled the top part off with a bit of force being careful not to screw up the wires. I cleaned and lubricated the ball joint as best I could, fed the wires back into the slot and pressed the knuckle back together and re-assembled.

I now have a stick with smoother movement and the axis works in the sim but none of the buttons or switches work.

- I tried removing and re-attaching the stick a couple of times but no luck.

- I removed the base and verified that everything was connected and the wires were intact.

- Rebooted PC, opened a Windows 10 (64 home ver) Joystick window and when I move the stick on the axis it shows but all of the button lights go on. When the stick is still the button lights are off but nothing happens when I press a button.

So.......... did I kill my stick or is there a solution?

I appreciate in advance and assistance you can offer.

Thanks,

Doug

you might want to check that you have correctly reseated any connectors you might have pulled apart and that you haven't inadvertently snagged a cable(s) in the casing, when you reassembled the stick.

hmmm, i've just reread your post and it would appear that you have already done that. If you have all of the connectors in and the right way round and none of the cables are damaged, that doesn't look good. All of the switches can't have failed at once though, so it could be one of the circuit board components. Before getting too downbeat though, you did try a different USB port i take it?

edit: it might also be a good idea, if you haven't already, to reboot your PC. that can be a solution to the oddest of issues. :)

Thanks for the replies! I just ran home for lunch and will try a couple suggestions before pulling it apart again.
