DaddySchlich
Probably obvious, but I'm having difficulty figuring it out. I updated from 1.5.8 open beta to 2.5.2 open beta. No problem! Then I used Skate Zilla's DCS Updater GUI Utility to "Update to Latest Release Version." 15 GB of files downloaded. Called up DCSW and 2.5.0. But I can't seem to switch between the two. And I only see one folder. What am I missing? Any help appreciated!! Daddy Schlich
DaddySchlich
And then trying to change to openbeta via DCS_updater, downloading 30 GB of files -- presumably the second time today. There obviously is something I'm not understanding!
Art-J
Sounds like on the first you didn't install separate Relase version, but converted your OB build into Release one (mind you, folder names remain as they were). So then yes, you had only one, 2.5.0 Release branch DCS on your PC. If you want ot have a separate 2.5.2. OB copy on your PC anyway, you'll have to do it traditional way, downloading and running installer from ED website. What do you want exactly, as it's not clear from your description :D? i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. eaglecash867
Yup. Just download and install fresh versions of the Beta and the Stable and it'll all work, right out of the gate. You can get HOTAS configs from your Saved Games folder and load those back in after the installs are done. Just make sure you either use the default location for each version, or make sure you don't install both in the same base "DCSWorldxxx" folder. They can peacefully coexist without one messing with the other, and you only have to use one activation for each of your modules. :D EVGA Z690 Classified, Intel i9 12900KS Alder Lake processor, MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R V2 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB DDR5 6400 memory, EVGA RTX3090 FTW3 Ultra 24GB video card, Samsung 980PRO 1TB M2.2280 SSD for Windows 10 64-bit OS, Samsung 980PRO 2TB M2.2280 SSD for program files, LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray burner. DaddySchlich
Thanks, guys! I was afraid it likely was something like that. When I saw language saying that it was simple to shift between the two, I thought maybe there was a way of doing so simpler than keeping 1.5 and 2.2 alpha both installed. And, yes, I was thinking of having both 2.5.2 OB and 2.5.0 release available.
