Hi, guys! I used the search feature but I cannot find anything about the F/A-18 takeoff so I’d thought I better start a thread called takeoff questions. I have a problem with takeoff, when I takeoff the airplane want to swerve to the right even though I reset the trim to takeoff. Any solutions? Thanks!

Cheers,

Vincent

Maybe check your right toe brake setting. It could be reversed therefore pulling right. Also check your throttle ranges for each engine to make sure you are getting symmetrical thrust. The last thing I can think of is make sure your rudder is centred and has no trim applied. Just doing some gross error checks (GECs).

Cheers!

You also need quite a bit of curve on the rudder axis for good control. I use 25 curve on my Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals and only assign brakes brakes to the one pedal. The pedals are to touchy with separate left and right brakes, I need to buy some better controls, wish VKB would hurry up! Then perhaps some slaw or MFG rudder pedals would be nice too.

What controls are you using Vinny002?

You can cheat and pull the paddle switch and turn the NWS off.

Hi, David oc, I am using the thrustmaster warthog hotas. I prefer flying the plane the realistic way rather than using cheats!!

Press 'right-ctrl+return' to display the controls on screen and see if that shows any unintended inputs.
