Try to turn off the pitch SAS channel, pull and release the stick a little: the nose oscillates up and down very quickly, like a spring. This seems unnatural, not so much because of the movement, but because of the frequency (speed) of the "bouncing".

Wondering if this highlights some FM issues / inaccuracies..

So the stability system is stabilizing the aircraft? Most fighter jets aren’t very stable without computer support- my guess would be that the harrier is even more unstable.

 

(I haven’t tested this so maybe it’s more than it seems by reading your post)
