KungFu Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 So I'm just using a linear curve at the moment as I do with all aircraft, but with the 18 it seems to be more sensitive and if that is the way it is in the real jet then I'll continue to stay with linear. But does anyone know if that is the case in the real jet or are there some "curves" applied to it in the FBW system? If so anyone have some proper curves for the warthog stick? Svend_Dellepude Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 AFAIK the real jet has a low sens zone around center for both X and Y. Not sure how big though. The thing in the real jet is that it also requires less force around center, where as with the WH you need some force to break out of the center detent. I lowered the sensetivity around center with a custom layout and then adjusted the rest of the zones to have a linear response. I also have a 10cm stick extension ( always funny :D ). Try playing around with curves, but careful not to make sens too curvy. That will make high G management more tricky and can kill your energy. In short, If you have the stock WH without an extension, you will need curves in order to have smooth control. Below you can see why. BSS_Sniper Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 It's never that sensitive in the real jet, any jet just based on the fact that there is so much more throw in the stick. I'd tell anyone as a rule of thumb to always use a curve in all three axis. Personally, I'm using 25 on the stick and 30 on the rudders for the Hornet. KungFu Posted June 18, 2018 Author Posted June 18, 2018 Thanks for the info guys, I will start messing around with the curves it and see how it goes. Just never used curves with any flight sim I've flown since the 1980s lol. Roller25 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I have a 10cm extension on a Warthog and also just started using a curve for the very centre of the x and y axis, whilst still keeping the majority of the range linear. I think it makes a huge difference and feels awesome. These are my settings: 0,4,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88,100. Also works well for rudder pedals.
