You can also move it around anywhere you want mate.

 

 

If you press shift+tab to type something then simply click on the black bar at the top and move the chat box anywhere on the screen you want :)

im not at my rig right now but isnt that one of the graphics option? like 1 monitor with mfcd? check your options>system>monitor setting

Just have the regular 1 screen.

Is there a command to make the text disappear after a few seconds? I'd like to read the message and then have it go away so it doesn't clutter my view.

left CTRL + left SHIFT + Y will disable it completely. you can hit TAB all day and it wont open or notify you of anything.

 

to re-enable, press the same keys and you can now see the notifications and press TAB to see the messages again.

No.
