I cant get the mod to work for some reason no matter what file I put it in. Not sure its the mods fault either as in game I cant get labels or FPS counters to work in VR any more. Any ideas what may be wrong mate?

Hmmm. I suspect that these are two different issues but could be wrong.

I'm afraid that I have no easy answers. I can only suggest steps for debugging. I assume you have already done a "repair"? If not, that would be the first stop.

Next. try to rename your "Saved Games" folder something else, e.g., "OLD-SAVED-GAMES" and then try starting DCS and seeing if FPS works. This will give you a partial clean slate (i.e. all your options, etc. will be reset, but the main DCS installation is still as you have it). If it works then, then it is one your option settings.

This changed sometimes since 2.5 release. It suddenly made far better spotting after some minor patch without any mentioning about that.

And to identify an aircraft it is possible in good distance now as well if you get them to change attitude so you can see tail or wings.

At the merge it can be hard to find them if they make a smart move but once I have them it's all about not EVER taking your eyes off them unless you know they aren't going to surprise you... Just like with a monitor and TIR really...

And that is the rule #1 in the visual fight, you never take your eyes away from the enemy. Why the dual seaters are having the edge because the rear seater is there to keep an eye all the time about your location while you can then perform quick checks to instruments for the optimal flight envelope.

Still it is sad that we do not have a more realistic AI flying with slower reaction times and incapability to pull maximum G forces (that got slightly changed while back) with BFM flight modeling in their use. As now it is that they just don't do the mistakes, they don't overshoot and they don't lose sight off from you regardless where you are around them.

One day we have AI that has the vision cones modeled and reaction times and stress modeled so once they lose sight from you, they need to find you again. And they can't react to your moves perfectly and their performance changes based G forces and the situational position like if you get them to your gunsight, they will start to make more mistakes and try to flee more as the fear grows. And of course they would get the same flight modeling too.

Then it would be far nicer to play against AI as well and one can make multiplayer servers filled with AI units.
