Hello All,

New to posting but I've learned much just from reading all the very good info in the forums. Much thanks.

The trouble...

In 2.5.2 open beta, all the addon maps crash the sim when close to the surface. It will run if AC are above 6k AGL. No cat shots possible with FA-18C in persian gulf therefore.

In Caucasus map, everything in 2.5.2 open beta works just fine. Cat shots, NOE flying all AC, everything.

I've updated graphics and sound drivers.

No shadows, low water, pretty minimal settings also.

I have 2.5 release and 1.5.8 release, both work perfectly.

Any thoughts on this?

I know you said you updated your drivers, but the drivers say:

Intel® HD Graphics 4000 - Driver from 2016

NVIDIA Quadro K2000M - Driver from 2013

Both those cards are on the low end and probably below spec for DCS. If you can find a newer driver, perhaps it will work, but I am worried those cards just wont cut it.

Yep, low end but but playable. New computer next year.

What makes me wonder is that the Caucasus map works but the other 3 don't. And the Nevada and Normandy work in 2.5 stable, which of course, doesn't have the Hornet.

But thank you for the reply.

The Caucasus did get updated, but its not a completely new map like the others, and doesnt have all the bells and whistles the others do. I am sure that effects your performance and ability to handle the quality and higher object counts of the newer maps.

I'm thinking and hoping that the open beta has some coding ( which can be optimized or hooked into the options panel and controlled by the player) which overwhelms my system with the Nevada, Normandy and Persian Gulf maps. Reason: Nevada and Normandy work fine in the stable 2.5 version but don't work in the 2.5.2 open beta.

Just thinking...

Well, I fixed it.

When dealing with graphic drivers there is uninstalling and then there is UNINSTALLING.

I read and researched and found the DDU method. It worked. the normal method doesn't actually change things. Leaves a lot of crap behind.

So to whom it may concern.

Use the DDU method in the first place, saves brain cells...
