Suntsag I’ve been watching and learning from your YouTube videos on mission building. I have two questions for you if you don’t mind answering.

 

1) in your respawn video you had unit and unit 001 when unit was destroyed unit001 spawned in to replace them. Is there a way to reuse unit to spawn in when unit001 is destroyed so using the two sets of units you have a countinous unit available in this case as range Targets? I’m thinking instead of a once eventusing a switched condition event and having both hidden setting a trigger on mission start or time more to activate unit then set flag to false then when unit001 is activate resetting that flag to true so when unit001 is destroyed unit can spawn. Is it possible I know I don’t have everything included?

 

2) I’ve just gotten through the spawning video. In the order that they load so it may be down the list.but if it isn’t can’t you create a video showing how on a target range to have a ai huey fly in use the miniguns then at the end have the huey do a 180 and use the rockets on the return pass then another 180 and have the door gunners clean up the area on that and the return. Pass. I can get the huey to flyoverthe range this is where I’m lost. I was hoping to see Bullets and rockets and I don’t. I may not have it setup right. Also,do you have to set trigger for smoke and flames like you did in your destruction video or does the rockets andminigun projectiles do that for you? If you could do a video on this I would be appreciated.

Still this:

 

Under Advanced Waypoint Actions or Triggered Actions you will find Attack Group and Attack Unit taskings. You can use these to assign targets to the AI as well as select the desired ordnance and quantity for them to use.

Advanced waypoint actions will occur as the AI arrives at the waypoint where they are assigned. Triggered actions can be activated at any time using the AI TASK PUSH trigger.

Glad the Video's are proving useful and thanks for watching them.

 

1). ANSWER: Once a unit is destroyed within DCS it cannot be reactivated which is where scripting makes a difference and overcomes this problem. So using a "SWITCHED CONDITION" will not help here as the ME cannot find anything to respawn, as it no longer exists. My video's are aimed more at Mission Editor functionality and not having to use scripting.

 

2).ANSWER: I could do a video covering this element but also, Fee's image post above does demonstrate the process for AI quite nicely. The thing to bear in mind is that the flight pattern of the Huey cannot be impacted through the editor once it starts to engage units...... so it will do its own thing until it's attack tasking is complete. Unless of course you decide to implement a very convolute set of triggers to attack then fly to a waypoint on a rinse and repeat basis.

I didn’t get to test it out but I think part of my problem was everything was blue I changed the target to red but didn’t get to test it out yet I’m too beat right now to check it out but maybe before I eat to Abq at 130am r when I return tomorrow afternoon if I’m up to it having my stimulation device upgraded and they want me at the ward at 545 am in the morning so unless I fall a sleep watching tv I ll try to sleep in the truck on the way up to Abq but I have to shower before leaving using a special disinfectant so that may revive me.
