Hello,

first of all excuse my English.

i´m currently searching for a new Computer for DCS. At the moment i play on the MSI GE72 6QF Apache Pro (Laptop), which is not very good for DCS because of the GTX970M which only has 3 GB of VRAM. I barely can play on nearly minimum Grafic settings with low FPS from 30 fps over land to 60 fps over water.

I set up a Configuration which i can show you here.

Intel Core i5-8600K, Prozessor Alpenföhn Brocken 3, CPU-Cooler

LG GH24NSD1, DVD-Brenner

ASUS PRIME Z370-A, Mainboard ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 STRIX GAMING

Samsung 970 EVO 250 GB, Solid State Drive

Crucial MX500 1 TB, Solid State Drive

be quiet! PURE BASE 600, Tower-Gehäuse

be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER 11 CM 550W, PC-Netzteil

Corsair DIMM 16GB DDR4-2666 Kit, Arbeitsspeicher

What do you think? Is it a good Configuration for DCS to get good results?

And maybe in addition. This setup costs me about 1700 € and i dont really want to spend much more.

Thanks in advance

With as much money invested, you might consider a 1080ti for,a few dollars more.

I7-6700k @ 4.5ghz

Gigabyte gaming 3 motherboard

32gb 3000hz ddr4

EVGA 2080ti black w/ hydrocopper water cooling

360mm custom water cooled loop for CPU and Vid card

500mb nvme ssd

256mb sata ssd

2gb hdd

Samsung Odyessy +

TM warthog stick & throttle

MS ff2 stick

Is it worth the 200€ more? Are there any comparisons between those two cards used in dcs ?

Chrissel, I would suggest shopping for a system with I7 chip and a 1080ti, thus you be well enough for DCS as for some future things coming out (Star Citizen hint hint..) ;)

Bad news. For gaming (intense current for 2-3 hours and/or 24/7 operating), you need a solid/quality PSU.

Forget the be quiet! 550w and get a 650w (Tier 1) or 750w (Tier 1-2-2b) , for a GTX1080, in the list: https://www.thetechgame.com/Archives/t=5613293/power-supply-guide-the-good-and-the-bad.html

The new series Strait Power 11 is unknown and the previous (Made by FSP with 85°C BULK cap) was not for gaming PC.

Good. That was a thing I wasn't sure about. I will select an other psu.

choose a good one, 850w and up, Platinum or Gold at least. Seasonic Prime series is very good and recommended.

16GB is a compromise, you realize this ? To stay safe, get 32GB if you can.

You can opt for Ryzen series, its a valid solution too. Might be a bit cheaper on the CPU and comes with a cooler to begin with.
