Kenan Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Was wondering if the ILS (carrier based) is available in the current beta? Also noticed trying to land without it, in VR, is very difficult as the centerline carrier runway lights are very hard to see and it's a challenge to line up properly. erautour Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 I don't have VR so I can't check but you are contacting ATC to have them turn on the lights, correct?
erautour Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 What are you saying isn't implemented? The carrier lights? or the carrier lights in VR? When I contact the carrier and report inbound they turn on the runway lights including the centerline.
muehlema Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Yes, you have to contact the carrier "inbound" and the contact tower and get landing permissions. Then the light turns on on the CVN-74. Mind that if you are having old missions, they might contain an old carrier mod - i stumbled over the same ;) X-Plane 11.5x / DCS 2.5.6 / P3Dv5 / Aerofly FS 2 / War Thunder Win10-x64 | ASUS Z390 Maximus VI | Intel i7-9700K @3.6GHz | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB DDR4 | 6TB SSD Samsung 850 Pro | 2TB M2 PCI 4x | ASUS GTX 1080 ROG STRIX 8GB DDR5X | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Combat Pedals | Oculus Rift S
Flamin_Squirrel Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Mmmm, let me think. The lights I say are not implemented are the centerline deviation, the ones that change color depending on your alignment. I never see them, no VR. I only see the runway and normal centerline lights. Alignment lights? What are you talking about? There's the IFLOS, that's it.

erautour Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 I thought the vertical yellow line was supposed to have lights that tell you if you are aligned or not. Perhaps I was wrong. Mmmm, let me think. You should probably check your info before you decide to be snarky.

You're not, the system described is the Long Range Line-up System or LRLS. It has been superseded by the Long Range Laser Line-up System LRLLS. Which is visible up to 10 miles away from the carrier.
