I am the fans of fighter combat,so i play the lock on.

As we know the Lock on had terrible perforcemence, what is on earth what kind of Pc could be Server or client play it well?

A.Terrible client FPS, & bad mutiplayer, as we know, there always lots of UFO in sky, the target could be any of speed and hegiht could me 30,XXXX m,and the craft could jumping dancing in the sky. While I use the same PC and net condition play IL2 1946,the FPS make me feel smoothly.

B.Terrible Perforcemence of Padlock, as we know ,the sim need Padlock, and padlock already several year 'old! While I use padlock with target, then if i POV some direction, what shall happen? The Padlock will not track with target, but the view angle will not chang!

By the way, if Padlock miss with bandit, the view could not return to default like Flanker2.5.

C. Terrible Perforcemence of Image, like what the FPS alway low,and also big mistake.Strange line and clour block often in the CRT, the cockipt also miss sth.

D.If U fly F-15, but in the VSD and HUD the fronts type is two small to read!

AS we know the Blizzard and IL 1946,there product sales well in the world, cause lot of PC could play it with good experience!

What on earth the System the Lock on need? U can check the system require, but U will get Terrible Perforcemence Of Lock on!

AMD 2600+ 512MB FX5200 128 Video card, in the background the NIS2006

Perhaps lock on work very well 's PC which could play FSX could got high score ,but the PC will be 5 years later could be popularity!

let me drew the conclusion, why in the Hyperlobby the whole world people play IL2 1946 not the Lock on? Cause there is only few people 's have the Highend PC and could bear such awfull Bug!

Jumping A-10 during internet game. A-10 could be dancing, but the IL2 never happen.

Dear diveplane

Thank your for understand my feeling, cause i spent lots of time in Flanker &Lock on, i expect ED could be the king of market.

If the ED 's software need the high_end pc require, the sales would not make people satisfly.

I mean the Blizzard 's product could run smoothly in lot of people 'pc, stable & high FPS & wonderfull image with the time!

I dont' have enough resource to use high-end PC, perhaps after 10 year that want i use computer could run 2007' lock on better.......

LockOn is very resource hungry and CPU dependant the most, however it can run very nicely and smoothly on my system and many others out there. This sim is defintely not for a low end PC and that 512MB of RAM is not enough by todays games standards.

Those graphical issues are most likely driver issues and online lag you mention is caused either by your poor/unreliable internet connection. If you see many people around you warping around like hell that's gotta be on your end, and if it's just one or two people warping could be their end. Try changing the server.

Other than that, I would get latest video card drivers and make sure you uninstall old drivers before you install new ones. Use regitry cleaner also before you install new ones.

$1000 ' Pc or $1500' PC , envy U!

But every year there alway High-end PC, Lock on should consider from which year ,i mean the lower PC 's system.

Honestly you have a bargain basement pc that I wouldnt buy at a pawn shop, if I dare stress on your computer. The Geforce Fx5200 pro I can buy at a computer retail store for 30 dollars. Its very low end as in the technology for that card is almost 7 years old. You have the recommended minimum of ram, when ram isnt all that expensive nowadays. You want to see a big performance gain?? Go out and purchase some pc3200 ram at 1.5 gigabytes total (perhaps 2 if you really want it) and be willing to shell out 160 dollars for a Nvidia Geforce 8800 or x1950x ATi card that have at least 256mb of DDR3 memory and AGP. Youll also have to purchase a new power supply unit to power them hungry video cards. I guarantee youll be loving lock-on after that. And how much would you have spent by then? $200 for the ram, $180 for the video card and $100 (TOPS) for the psu. $500 dollars gets you a somewhat upgraded computer. You dont need (although highly recommended) a new processor or motherboard.

Those are the 3 things you need to play this game smoothly. What am I playing on? An Acer Aspire 9300-5005 Notebook with 2048gb ram, a GeforceGo 7300 128mb video card, an AMD Turion x2 at 1.6ghz, and not much else.

From these pics you posted your running drivers that are totally NOT compatible with a Geforce 5200. If you still have the disk for your card I recommend using those drivers instead.

What hitman sugested is not that bad, you would get a decetly better system to play lockon for not so much lot of money (but you still won't be able to push it in graphical department). But I think you would be also much better off with lot faster CPU, only trouble is if you were to get one of the latest CPU's like Intel's Core 2 Duo, you would need new motherboard and RAM, which would cost lot more money, and then again if you really like lockon I think you would think it would be worth it... if you can afford it.

Yes, i know what i am talk about, but all i want is let the product more and more better!

Actually I agree with Kuky.... You're system isn't really powerful enough for a High Fi sim like this one.. My rig was about on the same level as the one that you just mentioned when Lock On was first released... I was always trying to find ways to bring up my FPS... Lock On for me was something that I could never get to work for me...

So as the systems became more sophisticated, I upgraded and now its three years or so later and I still can't run this sim maxed completely...

Although for me its very playable now... And I'm finally happy to see this the way its meant to be seen...

I've seen a lot of guy's come and go just for the reasons that you just posted..

So if you like Jet Simulation at its finest, then you came to the right place...

But something this good doesn't come cheaply..

My rig just cost me about 3500.00 usd and that not counting the 32" LCD and about 1000.00 USD for my controllers...

Yep. My laptop cost me 1200 dollars before upgrading the ram and 1500 total, and its low end. I could have built a computer somewhat similar to Kuky's for half the price his cost at around the same performance and still get decent playability.

$500 dollars is a good and decent amount to upgrade old computers to current standards, you just cant expect them to be perfect. The computer you have now would run Max Payne at full, and back then Max Payne was the shiat. Your computer would have difficult time playing Doom3, Grand Theft Auto, or anything that was released in the last 2 years. Small (SMALL) price to pay for an upgrade and playability.

You dont need to play this game at high settings to get the enjoyment out of it. You just need to play it at a reasonable setting for the time being. I used to play on a system very similar to yours. I did 3 upgrades on that computer, which was getting me a ATi 9550 pro (about 80 bucks at a Wal Mart now) and an nForce2 motherboard and a weak power supply and it did me wonders. I spent the better part of 200 bucks on upgrades and it was totally playable for me.

I remember spending just about AUD$3000, October 2006, for new CPU (E6600), motherboard (Asus P5W-DH-Deluxe), 2GB DDR2 PC5400 (Corsair 4-4-4-12), video card (Saphire x1950xtx), sound card (Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer), 2x250GB HDD (Seagate 7200.9 16MB cache), and 22" LCD (Samsung 225BW).

WOW, I see the problem right there. Actually, two problems - 512MB RAM and Nvidia FX5200.

Did you know that FX5200 is an "office" video card, that is meant for office applications but not gaming ? First of all, I remember getting FX5900 back in 2004 I think. And you have FX5200 which is by far a lot slower. Upgrade your video card. I'm pretty sure you won't run many games at acceptible setting with that card.

Also, your memory - 512MB, is not really enough for most of games. You need at least 1GB for today's games.

Optimization tip: Try setting texture resolution to medium. I have doubled my frames per second by changing textures from High to medium.

Also, your Sempron processor is simply old. This is not even Athlon XP. Really really old.

Oh, and stop with that "expensive $3000 or $4000" computer stuff. I bought mine (AMD 4000, 7800gt, 2gb ram) almost two years ago for $1000. It costs a lot cheaper today since there are more powerfull computers on the market.
