Kuky Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I have to ask this cause it's been really bugging me for a long time now... are you guys (ED) at least trying to fix this sound dissapearing when one respawns? Every time I enter a server and get hit, when I respawn, I will at least loose engine sound... and sometimes even flaps and airbrake and chaff sounds.... it ends up being like in space :helpsmilie: Any word from developers on this issue? 1 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
hitman Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I have the exact opposite problem, where I hear...EVERYTHING. AWACS needs to learn how to STFU like no ones business, I have to turn all sounds down in order to hear comms before takeoff, and dont ask about taking off from the carrier...those sounds are permanent until I leave the server.
Weta43 Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 It's not just a multiplayer bug, if you swap to another plane in single player you'll lose the flaps, gear, airbrake sound (though the engines are usually still there. Cheers.
Kuky Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 I never use the "swap aircraft" in single player so I don't know about this, but in multiplayer, every time I respawn I loose engine sound straight away (sometimes flaps and other sounds as well). Tonight I respawned only once and I lost engines, flaps, chaff and airbrake. This really sucks. And Hitman, I'm not talking about radio comms sound from AWACS or Ground Control... they are always there... it's the technical sounds that are being lost on pretty much regular basis. S77th-konkussion Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Plenty of sound bugs since the day it came out. Losing hydraulics sounds after getting shot down. Loud engine sounds persist after returning to cockpit view from airfield view. Can sometimes be fixed by changing view to a quiet airport. 1 [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
Kuky Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Funny thing now, I tried running a server (not on HL) and no matter how many times I respawned (which was about 10 times) I did not loose any sounds at all  ? Can it be this happens only as client? hm... I'll try it on HL also...:noexpression: PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Kuky Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 I tried again on HL and just eject after spooling up... 5 times respawning and I don't loose any sounds... but then I tried again opening network game on my machine (again not on HL) and this time I let the "bad" guy hit me with his missiles and guns... interestingly, the first time I got hit and respawned I lost chaff sound, second time I got hit and respaned I lost air brake sound, and respawning again for the third time I lost flaps sound as well... this p****s me off  PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

This also happens when playing one player but tends to happen more in a multiplayer environment. Very annoying indeed! The sound department is not one of LOMAC's strongest area. Have you heard IL2's? Nice positional sound right there. 2

I noticed that too.. I lost all engine sound in front of my aircraft. I got the rear engine sound. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] We are looking for members! http://www.masterarms.se
hitman Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Hitman, If you want to lower the AWACS calls. Lower the RADIO volume in audio options. I did that. Was either that or shoot AWACS down. 1
Paralyzer Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I did that. Was either that or shoot AWACS down. Hehe or you could that too

Yeah, I've played IL-2 for over 3 years... sound is indeed great in IL-2. LockOn sounds are not that bad either but this bug really sucks  PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Weta43 Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I don't swap if I'm being serious, but sometimes if I'm just shooting things up, then if you don't tell your wingnuts to attack when you get to the target area they'll just fly around with you. If I've use all my weapons, & they haven't panicked & dumped theirs, & there's still stuff to attack, sometimes I'll jump into their plane & use theirs Cheers.
