problem lockon gold on vista 64

i have the lockon gold uk cdrom.

installed on vista64,

run the sfdrvup.exe for starforce

run the patch LO_Flaming_Cliffs_Patch_1.12b_EngCD_Gold

 

but the game will not load past the initializing effects part of the loading screen.

Installed patch 1.02 and the game will not load past the "initializing effects" part of the loading screen. The radio chatter background sound is there but the the game won't go any further.

Im hoping you said 1.12 patch and not 1.02. Now is this a fresh install of Vista64 and / or a fresh install of LOMAC 1.12b?

fresh install vista64

fresh install LockOn gold

updated starforce with sfdrvup.exe

intall patch:

NVIDIA8800 GTX with the last official nvidia driver mounted.

Uh...before you go any further, did you try to run it in Windows Xp SP2 compatibility mode? I was running Vista64 just a few days ago (took it off I couldnt get it online with my modem) and it ran just fine on Vista64. A runtime error is just an error within the program and doesnt sound like its set up properly. Try reinstalling it on a different partition, and make sure you run this program in compatibility mode for Windows Xp SP2.

no dualboot. only vista64 installed. no partition or other OS.

Have you ever installed LO-FC on another computer by any chance? It sounds like somethings corrupt.

i never installed lockon gold on this machine. bought cd yesterday. some time ago, with xp professional and an older video card i installed the first release of lockon but i will be appy to try this version with FC included.

The LockOn Gold edition ran 1st batch with an error. Its possible you "might" have a defective disk. Ill have to dig up the thread with this pertaining to.

Install LOMAC 1.0 CD, Install FC CD, intall 1.12b CD patch. Then update SF.

for "FC CD" you mean the LockOn Gold disk2?
