Nice VR recording, man.

It's gonna be pretty imperative to have pedals for a helo.

I used to fly the Huey with an old (old, old, old) saitek x45 with the rudder paddle on the throttle, and even with that it was nigh-on impossible.

Using Z axis will hurt your hand in long sessions XDD

Yeah I started with only a logitech 3D Pro and that lasted for a couple of tortious days,...Then I started refining things to make them actually work as they should WIP.

@ Wrench I would have said the Gazelle was the easiest to hover as I've spent more time in that one and done more pickups and set downs than all the other helicopters. It's also the only helicopter I can get inverted in and still land it (almost every time). :D

@ Havremonster more then happy to jump on to say aerobatics server and take you through the basics, do you have Teamspeak? (anyone else as well depending on time and commitments etc.)

Keep in mind whilst I think the Gazelle is easy to operate I have put many hours into her and thats after starting with the Huey/Mi8/Ka50. There was a time when I hated the Gazelle it would kill you in the blink of an eye for not paying attention to her. Expecting to fly any helicopter well after only a few hours might be a little unrealistic. The Gazelle can be very frustrating but for me it's the most rewarding when I get it it right.

Almost getting it,..:D

Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment.

Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above.

Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.

I too am happy to go online with anyone in the Gazelle (or other helicopters) to help you out. Just PM me and we can set something up on a common server.

I fly weekly with Black Shark Den and lately have been doing Gazelle training for the group which includes helping everyone understand the Gazelle's advanced features, as well as the simple but critical stuff like auto-pilot modes, SAS, magnetic brake, getting into a hover at altitude, etc. Though we are an exclusive helicopter group and everyone has flown the Gazelle a lot, I still found there are many little details that people don't realize about how to fly and use the Gazelle.

Alternatively, if the Gazelle seems difficult, learn to fly the DCS Huey. It has its own difficulties, but at least the stick is 100% connected to the rotor system, so any troubles you have on the Huey are all you. :) The Mi8 and KA-50 will help but they are almost too easy to fly (especially the KA-50) compared to the Huey.
