CougarFFW04 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Hi everybody, I have a question about files attached to a mission and in particular sound files. Let's say that I want to play "xxx.wav" file at some point in a mission. What is the best practice to put the files linked to a mission ? Specific directory ? Wherever I want ? What is the best practice to distribute the mission to the community ? Thanks
Habu_69 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Play sounds just like any other trigger. Use SOUND TO action and point the trigger action to the sound file on your hard drive. Sound file will be imbedded in the mission by the ME. Better to use .ogg sound files if you can as they are much more compact than .wav.
Hardcard Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 (edited) Yes, definitely use ogg rather than wav. Otherwise your miz file will become absurdly large. As for mission sharing locations, I guess you can upload them here Edited August 26, 2018 by Hardcard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CougarFFW04 Posted August 27, 2018 Author Posted August 27, 2018 Hi Guys, I will have a look at a wav to ogg format (that I do not know) Thanks for your help.
Hardcard Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 (edited) You can use Audacity. It's free and it allows for wav, ogg and mp3 format conversion (through the "export" functionality). Edited August 27, 2018 by Hardcard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
