Rolds Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Hi Greg, I'm wondering how you set up the Argo to broadcast its homing signal for this campaign? I was hoping to set up some similar scenarios myself but I find that ships do not have the "set frequency" and "transmit message" options that land units have. Did you use a script for this? Thanks!
CHPL Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 you only need a trigger zone at the "radio location" and set up a trigger with "radio message" send in respect to that trigger zone. So you may set a radio source at any place you want without having structures or personal at that point Always happy landings ;)
Rolds Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 Ah that is a cool feature I didn't know about. Seems limited to a stationary ship though unless there is a way to move trigger zones I also don't know of? I suppose you could set a series of triggers and zones to have the broadcast always at least approximate the ship's location.
Rolds Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 Found a bit of a workaround, have another ship in the group near my "target ship" with an ai heli onboard and have that heli broadcast the homing message.

I am no mission builder, bu I think you can. There is a trigger called "Unit inside moving zone". Use that with the ship as zone unit and let the zone be bigg enough to enclose the entire area you plan to fly in (zone radius measured from the ship) so that your aircraft is inside it all the time. Then setup the broadcasting as an action for that trigger. That zone can be placed anywhere on the map in ME, it will be automatically centered on the zone unit (the ship) when running the mission.
