sp0nge Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Hello. I have 3ds max 7 and I want to set up the viewports to have the image on the axis' rather than just the grid. How can i do this? Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
thesystem Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 How do you mean? I attached an image to the other thread about the bomb how i'd setup my viewports...:smilewink: DCS World, A10C, AV8B, M2k, FA18C, FC3, MIG21
sp0nge Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 I meant how do I setup like a blue print for an aircraft or watever in the perspective viewport so I can model around it using the vertices, and polys. :smartass: Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
thesystem Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Aah! That's easy! You have a blueprint? Cut the parts out with photoshop or something that the sizes are correct. Then press alt + b and a popup screen will appear about background.... Then select a background (the blueprint you just cut out) and open it. You can also click on hold to image size i thought. And then the image will appear as background and you can draw around the image.... i will show you pictures later.... DCS World, A10C, AV8B, M2k, FA18C, FC3, MIG21
sp0nge Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 Thanks! Any way I can make the images appear in the perspective viewport so they intersect each other? Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Alfa Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 sp0nge......please use the "3D models Discussion" section of the forum for things concerning 3D modelling ;) . JJ
sp0nge Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 aww ok :( Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
7rooper Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I think what sponge means is that he needs to be able to follow a blueprint in the perspective view too. in that case the best you can do is build three boxes and array them so either their centers cross each other or they kind of make a room -with ceiling, wall and floor. Next texture each one with its respective blueprint: the top view blueprint with the ceiling, the left with the wall box and so long. My rig specs: Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR
sp0nge Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 i see... Thanks 7rooper. That worked. :D Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
7rooper Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 remember to check "see through" in the mesh properties and everything will be so sweet.......
