DarkClown Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Is the TPOD supposed to be able to point track a ship? I can't seem to get it to lock on. Ramsay Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 I didn't think it could point track anything yet? TPOD Point track works if used from a hot start i.e. air spawn, etc., which is why people keep asking for it to fixed for a cold 'ramp' start. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440

Not AFAIK When hot start, it's turning to point automatically if the target is smaller than the center box. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
DarkClown Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 Ah I'll try a hot start. I think I did a hot start to test against land units then cold for ships. Thanks. DarkClown Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 From hot start the TPOD kind of tracks ships. It will lock on to parts of the ship but loses lock pretty easy. I see that MAV Gs have a "SHIP" OSD button but it does nothing. Maybe the TPOD could get a ship option too. The 65Es are so slow and easy for a Destroyer to shoot them down. So 65Gs are still a better option. Setting a reference point for the 65Gs with the TPOD is very handy when trying to take out a Destroyer and dodge SAMs. One of the user missions I'm playing starts you with 4 65Gs and tasks you with taking out a Corvette. The ship is a ways out in the water and 4 65Gs will not sink the ship. So you either have to make a long trip back to shore (which throws the mission timing off) or enable unlimited ammo. I'm guessing the Mavs got a damage nerf at some point?
