msalama Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 No mention in the manual of a preflight magneto check that I can find. Did I miss something, or is it really not needed? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
msalama Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 Thought so. The manual, however, makes no mention of this. 3 percent of what though, if you don't mind my asking? EDIT: ach, means a 3% RPM drop on a single magneto is acceptable, right? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
lobo Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 You want to see a drop in RPM, but not an excessive drop. RPM drop when running on one magneto must not exceed 3%. Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/
IvanK Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Thought so. The manual, however, makes no mention of this. 3 percent of what though, if you don't mind my asking? EDIT: ach, means a 3% RPM drop on a single magneto is acceptable, right? Set 70% RPM with Throttle and prop pitch full fine. Then Turn of a Mag check the RPM drop is no more than 3%. Put the Mag switch back to both. Repeat process for remaining Mag
