How do I fire canons in SU33?

I want to assign buttons to my joystick or throttle box. What are the actions to select?

 

I was told this:

 

2 to select air to air mode

C to select cannoms

Spacebar to shoot the guns

 

But it does not work. Maybe because I don't find any "air to air mode" under 2 (french DCS wording differs)

fyi, you can press "print screen" (PrtSc, usually just right of F12) and get a computer-based image of the screen...don't need to use a camera.

 

Re: firing cannon

 

Pressing 2 gets you into BVR (Beyond Visual Range--a long range missile setting.) I would suggest pressing 8--Interrupter Reticule visee Canon--only because it has the word "Canon" in it.

 

Or pressing 7 (the typical A-to-G selection, with 6 being A to A. In A to A with cannons selected, you should see a "snake" thing which is the bullet impact envelope, which moves around as you fly. In both cases, press c for cannons.

to fire with the gun, you need to :

 

- be in a combat mode, either you press 2 for BVR, 3 for vertical scan, 4 for bore, 5 for HMD, 6 for IR missiles sensor, 7 for AG or 8 for HUD Failure gunsight

 

- press C to select gun

 

- you may radar/IR lock your target or use the snake/emergency gunsight

 

- press the trigger

 

 

 

read the manual, do the training missions

 

 

 

 

pour tirer au canon :

 

- il faut selectionner un mode darmement , 2 pour BVR , 3 pour scan vertical…

 

- tu peux verouiller la cible avec ton radar/EOS dans tout les modes sauf navigation ( 1 ), tir missile IR d'urgence (6) et viseur canon/affichage HUD d'urgence (8)

 

- presses C pour selectionner canon

 

- appuie sur la détente

 

 

PS : sur le forum CheckSix, postes dans la partie DCS, pas dans Flaming Cliff 2
