Hi,

Regarding the ingame Mission Editor. I find it difficiult. is there a 3rd party mission editor. Example. I was making a mission witht he SU25t for practicing hitting ground targets. The dumb thing added Migs to the mission. I cannot find them in the editor to delete them. I hat to do and dsy this, but Oleg made the best mission and map eitor ever mad Falcon 4 is also very good, but way different. But, IL-2 is a model all other should strive for.

Now back to LockOn. How the hell do I fix my misison, where are those Migs hiding on the damned map ?? In the mission they swoop down wrecking havock on my ground target mission, that was written for ground targets only! :helpsmilie:

no, there's no third party mission editor. There won't be any MiG's in the area if you didn't put them there. I find the mission editor pretty easy to use, you should go to Ironhand's site for the tutorial on how to use the mission editor.

I found them,,, I took a misison that was already created it and modded it... I didn't see them the fisrst two times, and they were a ways over ont he map, I had to go out of the area,, but those things appeared so fast it looked like they were close by...

in any case,,, there is lots of info in the way to make maps, I stil have not figures out lots of things... in any case.. I messed up and didn't see the migs on the map. I am just used to different map triggers than I see on LockOn maps..

Thanx anyways..

I guess it is what you are used to. I got Lockon first and got used to the Mision Editor and its foibles. Then I got IL2 and just can't get into its Mission Editor usage.....

One thing to remember with the Lockon ME when you copy an existing mission to tweak it is that there may be Hidden units in it, so you gotta check for that.

I know exactly what you mean - I'm still trying to get my head around the IL2 Mission Editor, which really cut into its enjoyment for me.

Cheers.

Both LockOn and IL2 mission editors are not hard to use at all. One thing I really like from IL2 is that you can see stationary objects when you place them on the map.

Lock On's editor is very easy to use but of course there are a lot of things that can stand improvement..

In the visual aspect I think that Forgotten Battles was is by far the best..

Even though its a prop sim, and the aircraft do have that classic look. The art work is superb... The splash screens are just nicely rendered, and look like good quality art.. And there's the moving borders that really add to the feeling that this is a war.. It just makes you think that your actually part of it....

Although Pacific Fighters on the other hand isn't nearly as good, it falls far short of FB..My thoughts are that this was actually rushed out of the door, to coincide with the release Flaming Cliffs...

Lock On's mission editor is far easier to use then IL2's but there are a lot of things that need to be addressed here.. I think that besides a need to offer a

a dynamic campaign, The window dressing needs to be meet head on and dealt with professionally.. I mean we see these screens every time that we load up for a mission or campaign.. This really is what sets the mood for play.. So shouldn't these be top notch....

Anyway that's what comes to mind, but I'm sure that there are a lot of other things that could be discussed both good and bad..

Its just that I haven't been able to play anything so I'm beginnig to forget, as I'm still waiting for my new serial number :megalol:
