AMD AthlonX2 Dual Core Processor 2.4GHz

SLI Motherboard

GeForce 7900GS

2Gb DDR2 Dual Chanel 800 SDRAM

Windows Vista :megalol:

and one really cool, yet really loud computer case (4 fans! sounds like a hurricane when i enter my room!)

What do you think?

I'm planning on SLI in the future...

Does it work with vista? and will a 7900 work with an 8 series card?

Have't installed lockon yet, but cant wait till i see the improvements from mo other crappy rig.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with Vista. Surely you are bound to come accross issues with Vista same as others :D

I would NOT miss match different brand/types on video cards if you want to go SLI. If you do and don't have any issues and the thing still works... there would be no point in getting a faster card for second card in SLI because it will be working as the slower one. (same as if you were miss matching RAM sticks)

I don't know why yuo went with AMD when Intel's are quite a bit faster now. Other than that... congratulations on the new system.

Hurricane heh? My new rig is going to have 7 fans 120mmm size. The secret here is to choose the right ones in order to avoid too much noise. What are your case specs? And fans? Cooler?

I chose noctua fans, realy quiet.

Yea, larger fans don't have to spin as fast and so much quieter. I have a case (Thermaltake Armor) with one 250mm and two 120mm fans and its virtually silent. And the airflow design is very well done so I don't even have to use the CPU fan which is one of the noisiest fan. There are some inexpensive cases with 250mm fan nowdays.

I was actually thinking of going water cooling to quiet down my system but using larger fan turned out to be better solution. Water cooling might be better for overclocking but I was just looking for quiet system.

I have three 80mm fans and one 120mm fan...

Ok, looks like I'm stuck with 7900s (still a decent card) unless i chose to upgrade to two 8 series cards.

As for AMD vs Intel, A 2.4GHz AMD was A LOT less expensive than the Intel 2.13GHz (both are dual core) either way, I don't regret my choice.

Thanks Guys

Dont waste too much money buying every new card that comes along. Just look at the card I have on my sig. I have an 8800 GTS next to me awayting for the rest of the parts. What a jump it will be. Itll be like Jumping from the Mig-15 into an F-22 Raptor. :D
