Exile5121
Running through the navair for the harrier again it looks like a few things that would improve the harriers use-case are being deployed on the harrier, specifically the JSOW and the APKWS II. There is also an RFP from last November (November 7) for an upgrade to carry the Aim-9x JSOW http://www.navair.navy.mil/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.displayPlatform&key=9097785F-B258-46B6-8474-20A48B820898 APKWS II http://www.navair.navy.mil/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.display&key=56424953-9562-4734-B373-AAB87ADAB56F And the RFP for the Aim-9x upgrade https://govtribe.com/opportunity/federal-contract-opportunity/aim-9x-integration-on-the-av-8b-harrier-n0001917rfpreqpma2590110
OStateBandit
Those are on the USMC road map for the Harrier, but still a few years away, and the sundown of the airplane has been set for 2025-2026 (FY26) too. It will be interesting to see how much actually makes it to the plane. The upgrades you mentioned are part of new OFPs being developed and fielded on the jets. Right now, RAZBAM's Harrier is a bit of a mish-mash of OFP versions with regards to capabilities and features. It's really close (and I enjoy the heck out of it), but to implement the new features realistically in DCS would require quite a bit of data that isn't out there for public consumption, and I suspect some wholesale updates of DCS. TPOD capabilities are a great example of that. Anyhow, you can read more about the plan to implement new goodies on the AV-8B in the USMC's annual aviation plan: https://www.aviation.marines.mil/Portals/11/2018%20AvPlan%20FINAL.pdf

Sierra99
Since APKWS is a weapon add on...it shouldn't require anything more than a laser designator to be utilized... Or Was there a significant enough ballistics change it requires new software? Cik
real trick is the avionics integration, not the ballistics. what should the SMS config pages etc. look like? there isn't a historical reference for it as it isn't implemented yet. Mods-o_joy
Im wondering if we will get the current APKWS system available to the harrier IRL right now. A10C - Block 5+7, AV8B/NA Harrier, F-14B. Pentium G4560, GTX 1050Ti, 20GB's total, 1x16GB Kingston Hyper X, And a 1x4GB Avexir Core Series kit, fleamarket mouse/keyboard, i swear it works fine :megalol:
