VMFA-Blaze Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 While waiting for my new Flaming Cliffs serial number, I've been flying FSX all of the time lately.. After buying this back in October and not being able to fly it because of PC limitations, with my new build I've finally gotten to completed number of the missions successfully. And that's with everything pushed to the high settings (this system rocks)... But I'm finding the Chopper missions to be just about the hardest ones.. Actually I did manage to get through the first one finally... But anyway this post isn't about this entirely.... There seems to be a problem using My TIR 4 Pro.. I've had this for about a year and I guess I still don't really have it adjusted properly.. Things are fine when I'm just flying along, the issues start when I get involved with setting up the Auto Pilot or just generally when I start clicking buttons or turning knobs.. The white hand is far to erratic to actually do anything with.. About the best performance that I can muster is for moving levers and sometimes flicking the landing lights... Now I've posted this issue here on this forum before and have gotten some good feed back for adjusting the light filtering which again works in general flight... But is there an exact science for setting up TIR for precise control adjustments.. I mean a way to steady the device? Which brings me to BS, I have viewed the training videos on preflight setup, and there is quite a lot of instrumentation that has to be set and adjusted.. Now if TIR is acting this way in FSX will there be a problem regarding the same here in BS??? So if there is a precise science to set up TIR so that it will function correctly, could some one explain this in a step by step form of instructions... And taking this into consideration I think that if this does exist it should be included in the set up of Black Shark when it finally does become available for purchase... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
GGTharos Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Use F7 or F8 when you want to operate things in the pit - it's TIR's 'precision mode'. Hit that key again to turn it off. VMFA-Blaze Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 That's It ??? Awesome Bro thanks... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
VMFA-Blaze Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 I tried it but it only helped a little... I think that I might be sitting to far away from the reciever, and I'm going to try and adjust the dead zones.... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
GGTharos Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 The other thing you can do is temporarily disable TIR - there's another hotkey for that, but I forget what it is. Again, it is a toggle. Look at your panel of choice, hit the key, your view will steady and then once you are done hit the key again and you are able to look around. Prophet Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Yeah I move the view with TIR to the area I need, and then disable. Its much easier that way.
bramski Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 How much light filtering are you using with your TIR, I find that once light filtering goes over 100 you get some screen shake. I fly mainly in the evening/night so I put light filtering to 40 and get zero screen shake.
VMFA-Blaze Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 Now those are some great suggestions... Thanks for the help I'm gong to try these out.... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Aeroscout Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I like moving the "smoothing" bar on the TIR profile window up to about 50. you can also try a linear curve and holding your head stiller. (no offense intended.)
