Question on Airport Comms

Hey guys, so going to be a dumb question on my part but have checked the DCSW manual and really can not find any info on it.

 

When I pull up ATC, and want to communicate with an airport, it brings up a list of airports. I will see one in white, and the others in gray. What exactly is the significance of the ones being displayed in gray?

 

Reason I ask - I have had Voice Attack, and just got it along with Vaicom Pro set up for using it in DCS. Great program.

So I was playing around in it yesterday in a custom mission (a modified takeoff from cold and dark from the Spitfire Takeoff instant action mission over Normandy).

 

Anyhoo, so the airport I was taking off from was Longuess se Mur or something like that. I decided during the flight using VaicomPro, to try to contact another airfield to land at it. Well it changed to the airfield I called out, but never got any replies. And it apparently screwed up my mission, cause from there on out it always tried to contact that other airport in subsequent flights, no matter what I did. Basically had to re-do the mission in the ME from the start and delete that one.

 

I was not pulling up ATC from the menu whilst using Voice Attack Vaicom Pro, I only mention the menu as I had noticed the airports listed in white and gray and was curious about that.

 

So is it a thing that maybe I can only work with airfields in white and not the ones in gray?

I would also note for now I am flying on Easy Comms.

i think on easy comms, all parties are greyed out, that you have not tuned your radio to.

i would recommend turning easy comms OFF though, since it can make thing more confusing.
