Toni Carrera Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 Hi, When I try and load a saved Track, DCS defaults to C:\ and will only allow me to locate anywhere within said C:\ How do I get the ability to change the drive letter that I want to use to 'Open' track files?? I can save wherever I want and do so in to a folder on D:\, but when it comes to opening one from the main Replay menu, it only allows C:\ navigation Thanks in Advance Toni Carrera (Ice Rhino) ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog Throttle & A10C Stick, ThrustMaster F/A-18C Stick, ThrustMaster TFRP Pedals, ThrustMaster Cougars x 2, fitted to CubeSim USB Screens, TrackIR 4 Active LED & Cap Reflector, Stream Deck XL Intel® Core™ i7-5820K 12 Core Processor, 32GB RAM, 1 x 500GB SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD, 1 x 1TB SSD 4 x 4TB Western Digital Mechanical. 2 x ASUS GTX 1080's SLI, ASUS 29" Ultrawide flanked by 2 x 22" IPS Monitors
bolek Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 As a workaround you could create a symlink in your tracks directory. Something like this (you have to do this in the Administrator Command Prompt): cd "c:\Users\<yourusername>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Tracks" mklink /d other_tracks d:\other_tracks
Toni Carrera Posted September 30, 2018 Author Posted September 30, 2018 Thank you Bolek, it worked perfectly. Thank you so much For the benefit of others who might want to use this solution, here is the exact syntax I used; 1. Opened Command Prompt as 'Administrator' 2. Typed - cd"C:\users\trsc\Saved Games\dcs\tracks" 3. Typed - mklink/d DCS-Tracks "D:\OneDrive-for-Business\OneDrive - TC ITServices\Game-Sim-Related\Digital-Combat-Simulations\Flight-Tracks\FA-18C" 4. The following result was displayed symboliclink created for DCS-Tracks <<===>>D:\OneDrive-for-Business\OneDrive - TC ITServices\Game-Sim-Related\Digital-Combat-Simulations\Flight-Tracks\FA-18C 5. I opened DCS and via the 'Replay' option on the menu. I navigate to the folder and there was a Directory listed name 'DCS-Tracks' 6. When I opened that, bingo, all my track files from the linked location were visible So my sincerest thanks to Bolek See ya Toni Carrera (Ice Rhino) ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog Throttle & A10C Stick, ThrustMaster F/A-18C Stick, ThrustMaster TFRP Pedals, ThrustMaster Cougars x 2, fitted to CubeSim USB Screens, TrackIR 4 Active LED & Cap Reflector, Stream Deck XL Intel® Core™ i7-5820K 12 Core Processor, 32GB RAM, 1 x 500GB SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD, 1 x 1TB SSD 4 x 4TB Western Digital Mechanical. 2 x ASUS GTX 1080's SLI, ASUS 29" Ultrawide flanked by 2 x 22" IPS Monitors
