Changing Track Location - Different Drive

Recommended Posts

Hi,

When I try and load a saved Track, DCS defaults to C:\ and will only allow me to locate anywhere within said C:\

How do I get the ability to change the drive letter that I want to use to 'Open' track files?? I can save wherever I want and do so in to a folder on D:\, but when it comes to opening one from the main Replay menu, it only allows C:\ navigation

Thanks in Advance

As a workaround you could create a symlink in your tracks directory. Something like this (you have to do this in the Administrator Command Prompt):

cd "c:\Users\<yourusername>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Tracks"
mklink /d other_tracks d:\other_tracks

Thank you Bolek, it worked perfectly. Thank you so much

For the benefit of others who might want to use this solution, here is the exact syntax I used;

1. Opened Command Prompt as 'Administrator'

2. Typed - cd"C:\users\trsc\Saved Games\dcs\tracks"

3. Typed - mklink/d DCS-Tracks "D:\OneDrive-for-Business\OneDrive - TC ITServices\Game-Sim-Related\Digital-Combat-Simulations\Flight-Tracks\FA-18C"

4. The following result was displayed

symboliclink created for DCS-Tracks <<===>>D:\OneDrive-for-Business\OneDrive - TC ITServices\Game-Sim-Related\Digital-Combat-Simulations\Flight-Tracks\FA-18C

5. I opened DCS and via the 'Replay' option on the menu. I navigate to the folder and there was a Directory listed name 'DCS-Tracks'

6. When I opened that, bingo, all my track files from the linked location were visible

So my sincerest thanks to Bolek

See ya
