hitman Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Ok. I got my old laptop back from acer and one of the things I am going to do is swap out the sdimm modules with each other. Problem is that I need to remove the keyboard from this Asus in order to get one of the sdimm modules off. Before I go around with an gas powered screwdriver removing "everything", how would I remove the keyboard off this? Ive checked the asus website and the only thing mentioned there is for a different model that is nowhere near the shape and size of this one. AnAndTech makes a mention on where they are (how I found out where the other sdimm module is) but nothing on how to remove the keyboard. If anyone has any ideas please let me know because I really want that extra 5% increase in memory speed and Im almost willing to tear apart this 2200 dollar laptop to get it.
SuperKungFu Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 lol do you really need to use an electric screwdriver, take things slow. And see if you can find a layout plan of your laptop. For example, my dell e1705 laptop came with a layout that showed exactly the components below the keyboard. Maybe if you can that on your laptop site, it would help? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Raised_Dead85 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Hey Hitman check the top rim of the keyboard. Theres suppose to be two little notches at each side of the corners of the keyboard. Theres one on top left corner and the right corner. There should not be any at the bottom. I had to increase my memory and i had to do the same thing! I hope that helps. If you got any more questions ill try to help you! |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|

hitman Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 It came like that, and I called asus about 30 minutes after I made this thread and I managed to pull the keyboard out to replace the sodimm card. Basically this is my laptop. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220125
