rattler Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 when I log into Lockon FC, in options I set my Audio etc. I have Radio Assist on which is fine if I make my own. If I try to fly using original missons, tracks, etc, there is no Radio Assist. I have only the plane commands. Can't talk to tower, wingman etc.. What file do I need to look at to fix this problem. Never had it till FC. Ver.102 worked fine. Please any comments. Cheers.
Ven Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I believe options are stuck to the missions. So the option of the person who created mission is what you get. To change it, you have to classify (ctrl+c), specify a password. Then declassify (ctrl+d) and enter same password. Then you can use your own option setting. By the way, I really hope this gets fixed with patch or BS. It's not huge problem but still annoying classifying and declassifying all the time.

That is what I have been doing, basically re-doing every campagne, mission or track. For me it is everything with the F15. Like you say a big pain. I will be surprised if they fix it. If we new which file it was, we could probably get it form someone who is still on ver1.02.Cheers.
HavokFlight Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Are you talking about the problem where flying a tutorial mission, all the controls are set differently ? I thought I was going mad. I had just finished setting the controls the way I liked them and suddenly they were back to the defaults. Thanks ... I hope. Mechanical engineers design weapons ... civil engineers design targets.

I had just finished setting the controls the way I liked them and suddenly they were back to the defaults. Thanks ... I hope. Well not exactly. My personal settings stay put but if I fly any of the missions, tracks, campaigns then I only have my A\C commands, no tower, awacs, wingmen. Version 1.02 was ok, when I went to FC 1.12 the problem arose. If I make anything, I am ok. If I change the original and save it like training301a, it will work just fine. It's all the original stuff. I have to clasify and declasify all originals and save as and I use A<B<Cetc. I don't think I tried to replace it with one I unclasified and made a slight change in. Must try that. I am talking about once in game setting your audio, graphics, joystick, etc. I check Radio Assist so I can talk to tower etc. I believe in the originals there is a file with that option turned off. If I knew what file it was I could turn it back on. 0 or 1, true or false type thing and save file. I think you may be talking about your joystick. Let me know if I am wrong on that. If so we both have same problem. Maybe Super could shed some light on this problem. Super if you read this, pop in with a comment, Thanks. Cheers, keep me updated on your problem.
SuperKungFu Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I don't have any problems with the radio commands in 1.12a, so I'm not entirely sure what is going on here. Have you tried reinstalling? Based on what you said, did you recently get FC? If so, don't install it on top of 1.02, do a clean install, 1.00, 1.1 FC, and the latest patch 1.12b. Also, about the radio assist, IIRC, i don't think thats referring to you talking to the tower, plane. I remember someone said, i think it was GG, that it meant others could talk to you. Like when you land, it will say on glidepath...etc. also, it might help if you post a screenshot of the command listing. Like what happens after you press the \ key and what commands are listed there. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ven Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Yea, radio communication is different from radio assist. Radio assist option gives you those annoying cockpit sounds like "SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT". As far as I know there's no option to turn off normal radio communication with towers and wingmen. If you're not getting that, then there's something wrong with your install. By the way, you still get "you're on glideslope" message from tower even with radio assist off. That seems normal tower radio message. And controls changing... that's something I've never heard before. It shouldn't be doing that regardless of whether mission is classified or not.

If I make a copy of it and save it with a different name, just add a no. or letter it works fine. I installed just as you suggested. I did get 1.12b but when I found out it was for Vista issues, I did a clean install again to 1.12a. All the sound folders are there for tower , wingmen, awacs, etc. I am using zzzzsound pack but I had the problem before I installed it. You might be right, I have a corrupt file. If I could find the file it might save me from doing another clean install.

Did not now it was for those comms. When I didn't want to here some of them I would change the sound by adding old to the name and it would not function. Radio Assist seems like it might be a better choice. Thanks.
