In the OpenBeta update notes a couple of weeks ago, it stated that the range of the silkworm was corrected to 100 km. I can't seem to get them to fire at a ship that is more than about 15 nm away. That's less than 30 km. The update also memtioned something about adjusting the reload time. What time would that be, and what other, if any, piece of equipment do I need to place next to the launcher to get it to reload?

Don't know beans about the Silkworm (let's get that outta the way) , but that sounds like a horizon LOS distance for a good--sized ship . Is your installallation in the hills , or is a remote radar up high ?

My understanding is there has to be a data source to feed the Silkworm for it to engage a target over the horizon. The example mentioned was to include an AWACS on the coalition that is using the Silkworm and then it will be able to engage at range.

I think in reality they have some sort of surface search radar set rather than an AWACs per se, but in DCS this is how it was explained to me.

How do I get an AWACS and the Silkworm linked up?

Well, I tried several of the search radars with no result but when I put the AN-50 in the mission, the Silkworms launched almost immediately! I also found that they will reload in about 45-55 minutes with a supply truck sitting next to them.

On a side note, the Silkworms will fire at a target just outside of their max range and hit the target by the time it is inside the range ring. They are deadly accurate also.
