Im buying the last few upgrades for the laptop this weekend and I need to know any issues I may encounter while setting up. Any information would be appreciated. Things I allready know are: Ill have to delete the trackIr profile from the lockon folder. Things I dont know: How to set it up in-game What to look for Anything else relevant

Ven Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Other than spending about half an hour fine tuning the profile to my preference, the setup was truly a plug and play. Nothing to setup in game as it was recognized right away. If you purchased the track clip pro, ignore the passive sensors that comes with TrackIR4. I tried using both the passive sensors and TrackClipPro together at first thinking that it may yield higher sensitivity which is false. And make sure you specify TrackClipPro in the software which you should download from their web site rather than the one on CD as always. Also, if you have TrackClipPro, put TrackIR4 to the left side of the monitor. Not center. I think that's about it... can't think of anything else. By the way, I didn't have to delete the config file. Just FYI.

(this has only happened in vista to me) If you load the game and your head is centered, yet the ingame head is not, Alt+Tab it, open up TIR, and re-designate center. This is annoying, but i live with it. It's definitely better than no TIR at all. ;) DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

I looked at the profile and noticed that the Z axis was greyed out, which of course means that the Z axis is not accessible ... There has to be away around this.. Have you tried assigning different key or joystick button for center? Make sure you trap it too.

Didn't know people had these issues with TIR4.

And what really sucks is that I was able to zoom in and out before I installed Vista... Of course I have the latest drivers installed, I'm going to try and reinstall the drivers again .. I'm almost tempted to go into the TIR forum... Its very sensitive and looking up is kind of a pain, but I expected this. Zoom works fine for me too. Its everything I thought it should be for 200 bucks, lol...I suspect Ill be playin with this thing for the next few days.

I don't think that they're really to concerned about dealing with this anyway.. I guess they're just like everyone else regarding Flaming Cliff issues.. "Why bother, lets wait for Black Shark to be released".... Anyway I can deal with it for now, I just figured out how to enable Teka Teka's camera adjustment mod.. You just turn user account control off to adjust the settings in config/view/server.lua, and save the changes before exiting.. then you turn the control back on... VMFA-Blaze Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Yes I've tried everything including right clicking the TIR icon and and running the application in XP SP1 compatibility mode but still no joy.. I think I'm going to have to install everything all over again.. I almost sure that one of the patches is missing... First because of the missing z axis, this was added at a latter date and wasn't included in the original release, and secondly when I press F4 I'm looking at the back of the aircraft rather then looking down at the tail section from the cockpit.. This padlock view was the way Lock On shipped originaly.. It was changed on the second or was it the third patch... I'm almost 100% sure the reason behind this missing patch is because I didn't disable the administrator account from the very beginning of thr present instal and one of the patches didn't install.... I'm going to uninstall everything, disable the administrator account.. and start over with a fresh installation ... Ven Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 If all axis works in TrackIR software (with the mannequin head and graphs) then the problem is definitely with the LOMAC install as you suspect. I've disabled the UAC the day after I installed Vista. I resort to conventional method of security and its secure enough for me. I don't keep important informations on my hard drive anyway.
