The game loads fine but whenever a I launch a mission the game crashes to desktop. Is there a crashlog somewhere I can review, or does DCS just not support the Samsung odyssey + I'm using?

Go to start menu, Eagle Dynamics, Repair DCS World.

Make sure video drivers are up to date as well as system drivers.

If still crashing after that - I'm just going to cover the basics - I assume since you can get the game to launch in VR that you have WMR for Steam in stalled in steam.

Given how new the odyssey+ is you probably already have the latest but start menu, Samsung HMD Odyssey setup, go through the steps to verify the firmware is up to date.

Type "Control Panel" into cortana, press enter, in new window double click "Power Options", ensure set to high performance.

Might be worth going into device manager, and double checking that your usb hubs don't have some form of power management enabled as well.

IMO - Launch SteamVR and let it open Mixed reality portal to bypass the cliffhouse, then run DCS.

Other things to check - in SteamVR settings you may want to double check your supersampling settings and make sure to either set it manually per application including dcs, or leave at 100% for DCS and use the pixel density option in the VR settings. Don't want to mix the two.

Also, in the system settings I'd make sure to lower the monitor resolution, as a high resolution can effect performance.

Also run Windows update manaully, I just type "windows update' in cortana and hit enter, then "Check for updates". There have been several windows updates of importance lately.

If none of that helps, you can try reinstalling directx or the vcredistx64.exe files found in the distr folder of your dcs installation directory..

Maybe even try backing up your input folder in C:\users\xxxx\saved games\dcs world\config\ by dropping it on the desktop, and then deleting the config folder all together, and dropping your input folder from the desktop back into the config folder that's created the next time you launch DCS. You'd only have to reconfigure your graphics settings this way.

If none of the above gets you sorted I'd start digging deeper potential system troubleshooting.

On another note, I'm curious, when you set 100% supersampling in SteamVR, what resolution is offered per eye? Just a personal curiosity if this number differs from the non +.

Are you more than 200% Super Sampling in Steam VR? If so, thats what it does. Dial it back a bit. Also, with the latest drivers and Win10 update, your PD needs to be 1.6 or less or you'll get the white box of death when it launches.

Wow thanks for the detailed replies. I will try them all and let you know how it works. Thanks again. Headwarp on manual override 100% equals 1424 x 1782 and auto which is how I had it set is a resolution of 1889 x 2364 @ 176%. I didn't realize steam defaulted so high until now. Yes I have no problem loading the menus.

thanks for answering that question. Sounds about the same as the original Samsung Odyssey. enjoy your new headset. I'm a little jealous of the anti-screen door effect screens.
