Curious - what's the lowest you've been able to engage and fly with the RALT autopilo

Decided to see for myself in a training mission (10 MK82 Snakeye, 2 AIM120C, 2 AIM9x) over the ocean (level terrain).

Best I got was around 50-60ft. Anything below that and the plane just naturally starts pitching down and the RALT won't engage.

Anyone else gotten lower?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I found that for this kind of stunts Viggen is the best. It's possible to get down to about 2m (6ft) and you leave visible wake on the water :). Actually, I feel like I am limited by joystick precision, so one can maybe do even better.

Oh wow - you can get that low in the Viggen?? That's impressive!

I thought 40ft was pretty good! lol

you cant really go lower due to the screw up inverted ground effect that sucks you to the ground / water. it should be doing the opposite and pushing you up and away from the ground or water.

I had that thought when I was trying to do it - I was confused as to why it was sucking me down when it should have been harder to go down due to GE. So that's a known engine bug then?

Saves me the time of going to the bug forum and reporting it! :)
