jocko417
Something a little different, call it a "semi-historically accurate" skin representing F/L Ernie Glover's "Rufus". Still a fair amount of work to do. Little known fact, Canada supplied 60 Sabre Mk.2 aircraft to the USAF during the Korean war while North American Aviation was running at full capacity, trying to keep up with USAF demands. These aircraft were delivered to California and fitted with American equipment and given USAF serials before being shipped overseas. The USAF designation for this Sabre model was F-86E-6-CAN. Some 22 RCAF fighter pilots were seconded to the USAF during the Korean war in order to receive combat experience. They flew with front line USAF fighter groups. F/L Ernie Glover served with the 334th FIS and, coincidentally, flew one of the Canadian-built Sabres exclusively during his tour (RCAF serial 19244, USAF serial 52-2833), eventually scoring 3 MiGs destroyed and 3 damaged, earning him both the American and Commonwealth DFCs. Finally got around to making a rounded version of the Far East Air Forces fuselage ID stripe. Sorry, no leading edge slats ;) Starting to catch up on some F-86 requests as well.
