How difficult is it to learn the basics of this plane ?

^This. Hornet is ridiculously easy to fly and land. You can light er up with one button. If the question is, what's the entry barrier, how long will it take before I can start zipping around... the answer is low, and about 30 seconds.

Depends where you want to land the F 18 on land straight forward on the carrier much more effort.

But that is all part of the fun.

Difficulty is subjective. I know some sim pilots that find the FC3 planes hard to fly. For me the basic of any aircraft is not hard to learn. A plane is a plane they all work on the same fundamental basics. And I have flown everything from Piper Cubs to the A\10( Sim of course)

The F\a 18c in DCS world seems like it is by design more flight crew friendly than most aircraft I have flown. I imagine this is due to the role of the Hornet. Carrier based fighter air craft are designed to be scrambled quickly off the deck of a ship. The cockpit is streamlined for this purpose. It is actually so streamlined that I can go full cold and dark to combat ready and off the end of the Stennis in less than 10 minutes with out a check list. It is also very stable in flight and has a full auto pilot with auto throttle which makes setting up your weapons and CM a breeze enroute to the AO. The trick to overcome with this air craft is landing. getting the AOA right and staying on speed takes a little getting used to as once you drop the landing gear you change altitude with the throttle not the flight stick. If you are at all competent with any other aircraft in DCS then the Hornet should pose little trouble to learn.

I respect your opinion, but the BEST module available is A-10C. Far better.

The Hawg is a completed module.

The Hornet is a far better tactical jet. Much more versatile.

The Hornet is quite easy to pick up and learn. While it's a great deal more complex than most of DCS' offerings, it's very intuitive in how systems are utilized.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
