This was during mission 04 or 05 (I think), and I thought it strange that I was given illumination flares, then during radio chatter my character mentions the supporting flight L-39 pilot would even have a hard time seeing things with his night vision goggles.

My first time actually playing a well scripted campaign like this so I'm not sure if I've misheard the pilots and this was meant to be a nice sunny evening flight.

I can see the clock shows 6:50pm but it's complete sunlight and the sun is actually really high in the sky.

Is there something wrong on my end? Should this mission have been set at night time?

I'm loving the campaign so far though. Definitely recommended. :pilotfly:

It's been ages since I've played so if I'm wrong I'll delete the thread for real bugs. Thanks! :joystick:

Hey Goshawk! God you’re enjoying it.

You heard right. The reason is simple - a bit of behind the scenes info now. The mission was originally designed and built as a night - time mission. But I quickly found out that due to AI limitations, A) Enemy won’t shoot you ever and B) your wingman wouldn’t spot a thing. So O pushed it back to the evening but didn’t change the script, something I should probably do. Still, if you play long enough you can stay in the AO until it gets dark... and then the dumb AI wingman will keep saying “engaging primary” and the get over CLA infantry and drop illum flares on them... reporting “bombs away” :D I’ll probably have to modify some small things in this mission :)

Ah good to know. Once again it is really well scripted. You should be proud. The hours you've put into this would be hard to count I'm sure.

Thanks!
