Kev2go Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) I really hope this becomes a module someday, even if it's just the A model. Seeing the early development pictures from when it was a planned module always makes me wonder why ED didn't finish it. I know they had their reasons, but as one of the most iconic if not premier western attack helicopters, it would have sold well. for me its AH64D or bust. otherwise I think AH1W would already be more sophisticated ( if its late 90s- early 2000s model) than the AH64A in some ways, and is more versatile with muntions type. AH1W has EGI ( with exact CDU panel used in A10C) in both Pilots and gunners seat, and Gunner has a Multifunction display. AH1W can use both TOW and hellfire missiles, and AH64A can only use Hellfires. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, so having option for 2 types is nice in the Super Cobra. As yet another nice to have featured the Cobras can carry a pair AIm9L or M sidewinders, which means it has some means to self protect against aicraft in a contested enviornment. In lieu of Sidewinders AGM122 SIdearm can be equipped allowing limited SEAD to self protect against low level SAM threats. https://apps.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a491658.pdf Edited March 1, 2019 by Kev2go Build: Windows 10 64 bit Pro Case/Tower: Corsair Graphite 760tm ,Asus Strix Z790 Motherboard, Intel Core i7 12700k ,Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 64gb ram (3600 mhz) , (Asus strix oc edition) Nvidia RTX 3080 12gb , Evga g2 850 watt psu, Hardrives ; Samsung 970 EVo, , Samsung evo 860 pro 1 TB SSD, Samsung evo 850 pro 1TB SSD, WD 1TB HDD
Harlikwin Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 I see the main advantage of the AH1W is the fact it fits nicely with the Harrier, and can fly off the Tarawa...
