MobiSev Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 How does PCM mode differ from regular jamming? When should you use it? Modules owned: FC3, M-2000C, Mig-21bis, F-5E, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, KA-50, Mi-8, F-14A&B, JF-17
jojo Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 How does PCM mode differ from regular jamming? When should you use it? Put the knob in the middle position and the HOTAS command will will trigger the jammer ON/ OFF. On the real aircraft this is more complicated than that. The jammer can decide automatically when to jam or not. But the jammer might jam your own radar. This interaction doesn't exist in DCS, so the system is simplified. Mirage fanatic ! I was just wondering about PCM jamming and how that differs from regular jamming Modules owned: FC3, M-2000C, Mig-21bis, F-5E, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, KA-50, Mi-8, F-14A&B, JF-17
jojo Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 In DCS the jammer only has 2 states, transmitting or not and only one mode, noise jamming. There is nothing else. Mirage fanatic ! River Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 And what are the two modes ? Square and PCM ? Square off, PCM on ?
jojo Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 When the knob is on square, you can switch from VEI. to PCM with the HOTAS command (throttle). VEI. = "veille" = stand by PCM = "Priorité Contre Mesure" = jammer priority. Mirage fanatic !
