How does PCM mode differ from regular jamming? When should you use it?

FC3, M-2000C, Mig-21bis, F-5E, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, KA-50, Mi-8, F-14A&B, JF-17

How does PCM mode differ from regular jamming? When should you use it?

 

Put the knob in the middle position and the HOTAS command will will trigger the jammer ON/ OFF.

 

On the real aircraft this is more complicated than that.

The jammer can decide automatically when to jam or not.

But the jammer might jam your own radar.

This interaction doesn't exist in DCS, so the system is simplified.

I know how to turn the jammer on...

 

I was just wondering about PCM jamming and how that differs from regular jamming

When the knob is on square, you can switch from VEI. to PCM with the HOTAS command (throttle).

 

 

VEI. = "veille" = stand by

PCM = "Priorité Contre Mesure" = jammer priority.
