I'm confused with this product. I don't want to do the campaign. I just want to do the practice missions to work on my BFM tactics since I can start from the air and get more practice that way.

I used the mission editor to open practice mission 1, and then chose fly mission from ME.

They want me to fly to a waypoint (india) and then make a "call ready" to begin combat. They say I can "call" anytime to terminate combat if I wish.

I thought this call would be triggered by just following the waypoints since the F15 does not have a radio I can operate, but I've been flying through the waypoints all day at different altitudes trying to get the engagement to start.

I keep being instructed to circle around waypoint india and "call ready" to begin the exercise. They say I can return to india any time and call ready for another engagement. Can someone please help me get started? I can operate the plane. I just don't understand how to get the dogfight to trigger. What call do I make? When I hit the "", there is no "ready" or "terminate", and this is the only radio comms I read about. This is my first mission, so I'm quite confused. Thanks in advance.

not even AI difficulty can be changed in the editor? I'm not going to be very good. By the way, what's the difference between doing the campaign vs doing the missions the way I described (through the editor)? Just faster to the fight one way compared to more of a simulation the other? I thought I was buying a campaign plus 11 missions. I now think the missions are the same as the campaign missions only starting in the air. Thanks for the f10 tip by the way.

Some assets in the ME may be locked or hidden but I remember that I was able to list all the aircraft used in the mission and edit the one I choose. You cannot save the mission but you can fly against ie. F-5 that way with difficulty of your choice.

You don't have to fly the campaign if you don't want to. The practice missions are just for that - practice. You start in the air close to the engagement. You just won't get campaign progress in Campaign menu and campaign missions count in Pilot Logbook.

You can copy the practice missions to your \Saved games\DCS\Missions folder so you can have them quickly available in the DCS main menu > Mission > My Missions without the ME and looking for the files.
