Should I install the stable version or the OB? I talked to someone saying the newer updates are on the OB but not on stable yet. The HARM TOO mode for example. Only the SP mode is on stable version. I thought the stable version would have it.

It will eventually. New functions will be in the OB first as it latest changes and therefore will likely have more bugs on the included systems than the stable. One they get most of the bugs worked out it will move to the stable version. No stable version of any program will be completely bug free, but there shouldn't be a lot of major bugs in it, whereas with the OB you may have to deal with some issues (especially on new functions) until the next update. Fortunately the next update will be a lot sooner with the OB than the stable.

So you have to decide if you want to be on the bleeding edge of functions and are willing to put up with more bugs in them and more updates therefore more changes, or stick with the stable where there should be minimal bugs, but you'll have to wait longer to try out the new functions which will come in bigger clumps due to fewer released versions.

if you are gonna switch to either one back up all your keybinds, settings, track files and any missions you have built in the editor first. I switched and lost everything. I wanted to have both but not enough space on my current SSD.

Nobody likes me because I'm unsafe.

I keep an OB on my SSD, and a Release on an HD - both have separate settings in their respective installs of course, and both have their own folders in Saved Games so nothing gets lost. This requires space of course.

Some things require the OB. If you want to play with that shiny new release, it will often only be available in OB for the first week or so. EG the MiG-19.

Personally, I just use the OB now, and keep the release copy as a backup/reference in case I frig up my configs.
