Hello everyone. I am a new to VR and new to DCS world, a combo that has tested my patience a bit the past few days, but since I am at a loss on how to fix the issue I am having on my own, I am reaching out to the community for assistance. Likely, it is a simple click here or there, but I can't find it, so here goes...

When I go into the Windows Mixed Reality for Steam I cannot figure out how to launch DCS World without my VR hand controller. I am using a Samsung Odyssey+ fyi. Is there not a way I can use the mouse click to launch the DCS app? I travel a lot for work and of course, I did not travel with my hand controllers this trip, but it would also save me room in my suitcase for important stuff like clothes if I could figure out how to play without the controllers. If it helps someone help me, I am also using a Thrustmaster T16000 HOTAS.

Thank you in advance for any advice or help!

Since this is my first post, a little about myself. I have spent my entire adult life in military aviation. I began as an EA-6B Prowler Avionics Technician and then flew AH-64A/D model Apaches for the Army. I look forward to meeting and hanging out with fellow aviation enthusiasts here and on DCS World.

Cool, welcome dual brancher.

Very fast and simple ways, you can peak outside your headset, if your mouse isn't active on your laptop screen, remove the HMD all the way to activate it, than you can kill the steam VR app if you want and relaunch via the virtual desktop once back in your HMD. Or you can simply click on the DCS icon on your laptop desktop while still in steam with your headset off your head. The second route may result in no mouse motion in game, in that case use method one.

Taking the headset off will always shift mouse control back to the PC screen. And once your a vet at it, a slight lift and push forward on the visor will suffice.

Thanks Nodak. I'll give your advice a try to the letter. Earlier, I tried peeking under the HMD, but the mouse would not ever "cross over" from my desktop into the Steam VR app, it would only go to the outer edges and then limit there.

Verify if you have the mouse cursor restricted to the DCS window, it is an option in the settings

Mouse cursor was restricted, so I un-checked it. Now I can put the mouse over the Steam VR icons on my desktop, but I am still unable to see it in the same spots when I have my headset on. I guess I'll just use my hand controller and keep one with me from now on. Grrrr!
