When do you guys think itll get pushed to the stable build of DCS? I used to have an OB install, but after a hardware upgrade and reinstall of windows I didnt bother installing the OB, just the stable build - both builds with every module installed takes up a huge amount of disk space on my SSD. The obvious soln. is to install the ob, but not doing that and will just be patient a bit longer. Anyway, thanks, and a very big congrats to everyone at Heatblur for getting the F14 out the door.

here is my guess.

launches today

patches next Wednesday

more patches following Wednesday

probably out after that Wednesday

so three weeks if that? maybe patches next Wednesday and then live the following Wednesday

remember the Mig-19 still isn't even out of beta

Pretty much what I figured. Was hoping since this initial release would be the most vetted since it's been simmering on the stove for the longest period of time as far as feature functionality is concerned, they'd get it out to stable the quickest. Three weeks or four isn't too bad. I know its not the most ideal scenario, but I may just go ahead and pop the OB on my data 1tb, platter, drive and just play around with the F14 on the caucus map to get my feet wet.

Being fairly new to all the dcs pre-order beta/open beta stuff I'm really REALLY annoyed that there wasn't more of a mention about this that it would be an open beta release.

I've never used the open beta before and looks like I'll have to re-download another 64gb of another version of DCS just to use one module.

You don't have to download it all

All you need to do is type:

DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta in command prompt.

If you don't like it for some reason and want to go back type:

DCS_updater.exe update @release

So you have options:thumbup:

P.S: I'm running stable too. I'm now in OB because of MIG 19 and will be until F14 goes stable.

It's about 3 gigs right now to switch from @release to @openbeta.

On top of that there's about 2 gigs of F14 module data that you'll have to download anyway. So it's not that bad.

I have an extremely fast DL speed, so I just installed the OB on an unused data platter drive - not ideal. As expected, load times are nowhere near those of my app SSD, but not too bad.
